State-owned telecom operator BSNL saw a 10% year-on-year increase in core service revenue, reaching Rs 4,418 crore in the first quarter of FY2026-27. This growth was primarily fueled by strong performances in its enterprise and mobility sectors. The revenue surge from the previous year’s Rs 4,017 crore showcased the company’s positive trajectory.
Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region, Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, oversaw a strategic review and planning meeting evaluating the operational and business performance of all 28 BSNL circles in the April-June quarter. Describing it as a robust start to the financial year, Scindia highlighted the successful performance of BSNL’s three key business segments and emphasized the need for sustained momentum through consistent execution and monitoring.
BSNL’s Enterprise Business segment experienced the highest growth, with a 19.2% year-on-year revenue increase to Rs 1,745 crore. Consumer Mobility also showed a positive trend, generating Rs 1,724 crore in revenue, marking an 8% rise from the previous year. Additionally, Consumer Fixed Access contributed Rs 960 crore to the revenue stream during the quarter.
During the review session, Minister Scindia commended BSNL circles in Jammu & Kashmir, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh West, and Karnataka for their outstanding performance across critical operational metrics. Scindia directed all circles to enhance quality of service indicators like Optical Line Terminal (OLT) uptime, Base Transceiver Station (BTS) uptime, and Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) to ensure improved network reliability and customer satisfaction.
