The SP MLAs, as part of a planned protest, continuously chanted “Go back” during the Governor’s address. Governor Anandiben Patel, amidst the disruptions, mentioned the state government’s efforts in uplifting nearly six crore people out of poverty in Uttar Pradesh.
In a separate incident, SP MLA Zahid Beg staged a protest within the Assembly complex regarding specific issues. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that the state’s economic survey would be presented after the Governor’s speech, emphasizing the state’s economic progress. He claimed that Uttar Pradesh had made significant strides in the national economy, moving away from underdevelopment.
Prior to the session’s commencement, Samajwadi Party members staged a protest near the statue of former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh, denouncing the BJP-led government.
