A tragic car accident occurred in Vidisha district, Madhya Pradesh, when a car carrying six friends collided with a parked dumper truck. The crash, which happened around 1:30 a.m., resulted in the death of three occupants while the other three sustained critical injuries. The group was returning home after celebrating a birthday late into the night at a local eatery on State Highway 14.
The car, reportedly traveling at high speed, crashed into the stationary dumper truck with such force that the front of the car was severely damaged, trapping the victims inside. Local police quickly responded to the scene and initiated a challenging rescue operation using cutters and earthmoving machinery to free the trapped individuals. Despite efforts, three young men lost their lives in the accident.
The deceased individuals were identified as Ankit Sahu (21), Tanay Sharma (19), and Jagdish Sahu (31), who was driving the vehicle. The survivors, Monty Ahirwar, Jagdish Gond, and Tanmay Srivastava, were in critical condition and received medical treatment at local health facilities before being transferred to a district hospital for further care. Monty, in particular, was deemed critical and was sent to Bhopal for advanced medical attention.
Authorities are investigating the incident, considering factors such as poor visibility, high speed, and the lack of reflectors on the parked truck as potential contributors to the tragedy. A case has been registered, and inquiries are ongoing to determine the exact cause, including the possible role of negligence by the dumper truck driver. The incident underscores concerns about road safety, especially at night, emphasizing the risks posed by improperly parked heavy vehicles on highways.
