Three individuals lost their lives, and one person sustained severe injuries in Rajkot’s Jetpur city when a car collided with a railway bridge and split into two early Sunday morning. The tragic incident occurred as four friends were returning from the Maha Shivratri fair at Bhavnath in Junagadh. It is reported that the driver lost control of the vehicle while crossing the bridge, leading to the collision.
The impact of the crash was significant, causing the car to break into two parts that were thrown to opposite sides of the road. Two of the occupants, Muskan Bagda, 21, and Arun Vala, 20, died at the scene, while Jaydeep Chauhan, who suffered critical injuries, later succumbed to his injuries. The fourth occupant, Amit Parmar, also sustained serious injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment at a hospital in Junagadh.
Authorities have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the incident. Initial findings suggest that the driver’s loss of control was the primary cause of the accident. Further inquiries are ongoing to determine the exact circumstances that led to the tragic crash. Police responded to the scene following alerts from local residents and passing motorists.
A crane was utilized to clear the damaged vehicle parts from the road, temporarily disrupting traffic on the bridge and causing congestion in the area. However, normal traffic flow was restored later. All four occupants were initially taken to Jetpur Government Hospital, and the bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem examinations as part of the legal procedures.
The accident occurred during the bustling Maha Shivratri festival in Junagadh, which attracts a large number of devotees, leading to heavy vehicular movement in the area. Authorities are thoroughly examining all aspects of the case as part of the ongoing investigation.
