In a significant development related to the gang rape case of a woman manager at a private IT company, three individuals, including the CEO, have been placed in police custody for three days. Superintendent of Police Yogesh Goel disclosed that the arrests took place on Wednesday night, and the accused were presented before the court on Friday due to Thursday being a holiday. The court then decided to remand them to police custody for further investigation.
The incident is reported to have occurred during a party on December 20 at a hotel in Udaipur’s Shobhagpura area, organized to celebrate the CEO’s birthday and New Year festivities. The victim, employed as a manager in the company, arrived at the hotel around 9 p.m., where the CEO, a female executive head, and her husband were also present. The gathering extended late into the night, involving alcohol consumption. Subsequently, the accused allegedly took the woman in a car and drove around the city for nearly three hours.
According to the police, the crime was purportedly committed in a moving vehicle during this drive. The victim later reported the incident to the police, leading to a medical examination that confirmed injuries consistent with the allegations. Superintendent Goel mentioned that the medical report indicated injuries on various parts of the woman’s body, aligning with her account. Following this evidence, the police arrested the three suspects, including the CEO, and Additional Superintendent of Police Madhuri Verma is overseeing the investigation, questioning the accused to establish the sequence of events and gather more evidence.
As the interrogation progresses, authorities anticipate more details to emerge. They have affirmed that the case is being handled with utmost seriousness and sensitivity, with further legal measures to be taken based on the findings.
