The body language of West Bengal Police and Kolkata Police during the recent state Assembly polls suggests an impending change in regime, according to BJP’s former national vice-president, Dilip Ghosh. Ghosh noted a noticeable shift in demeanor, especially in the second phase of polls, praising the central forces for their performance.
Ghosh commended the Chief Election Commissioner, Gyanesh Kumar, in a media interaction, highlighting the successful completion of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise amid challenges from the ruling Trinamool Congress. He emphasized that this time, only genuine voters participated peacefully in the electoral process.
The two-phase polling in West Bengal witnessed unprecedented security measures, resulting in minimal instances of poll-related violence. Record-breaking voter turnout was recorded in both phases, setting new benchmarks for the state and the country. The election results are scheduled to be announced on May 4 under tight security protocols.
