Chhattisgarh’s Jashpur Police have successfully solved a high-profile blind murder case within just one day. The police arrested four individuals, including the victim’s daughter-in-law, in connection with the case involving the killing of 70-year-old Chugru Pradhan in the Duldula police station area.
A special investigation team was swiftly assembled following the incident report. Utilizing resources such as the Dog Squad, Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), CCTV footage, technical evidence, and cyber cell inputs, the police were able to crack the case efficiently.
Investigations revealed that the victim’s daughter-in-law, Suganti Besra, along with Sahil alias Raja Khan, Anand Yadav, and Rohit Singh, conspired to murder Chugru Pradhan due to a family dispute. The accused allegedly entered the victim’s residence on a motorcycle during the night of July 3 and 4, physically assaulted him, bound him, and caused his demise by gagging him with a cloth.
The accused fled the scene post the crime, but were apprehended by the police within 24 hours. The authorities recovered crucial evidence including the murder weapon, the motorcycle used during the crime, and four mobile phones from the suspects. Jashpur Police, under the leadership of SSP Dr. Lal Umed Singh, are committed to a zero-tolerance approach towards serious crimes, employing scientific investigation techniques and technical evidence to swiftly bring offenders to justice.
Additional Superintendent of Police Rakesh Kumar Patanwar highlighted that the case was resolved through technical evidence and cyber analysis, leading to the prompt arrest of all involved. The accused have been charged under relevant legal sections, presented in court, and remanded to judicial custody.
