Chief Justice of India, Justice Surya Kant, revealed plans to set up a Sessions Division in Hansi, Haryana, soon. This move follows Hansi’s designation as the 23rd district of the state, aiming to enhance access to justice for the local residents. Justice Kant highlighted the pivotal role the Sessions Division will play in bolstering public access to justice.
During the inauguration of the Sub-Divisional Court and the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Sub-Divisional Judicial Complex in Narnaund town, Justice Kant addressed judicial officers, advocates, and esteemed citizens. The event was graced by the presence of Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, State Public Health Minister Ranbir Gangwa, Cooperation Minister Arvind Sharma, and Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, Justice Sheel Nagu.
Justice Kant expressed immense satisfaction over the establishment of a Sub-Divisional Court in Narnaund, emphasizing the judiciary’s unwavering commitment to delivering justice to every individual, especially the marginalized. He underscored the constitutional guarantee of equal access to justice for all citizens and the judiciary’s continuous efforts to make justice affordable and accessible to the underprivileged.
Encouraging judicial officers and advocates, Justice Kant stressed the importance of maintaining public trust in the justice system and ensuring timely dispensation of justice as top priorities. He lauded advocates as guardians of justice, urging them to uphold the ethical standards of the legal profession. Furthermore, he urged legal professionals to embrace technological advancements and stay abreast of judicial developments to adapt to the evolving landscape effectively.
Justice Kant emphasized the need for a proactive and solution-oriented approach in resolving pending cases, urging judicial officers and advocates to address legal matters efficiently. Notably, the construction of the Sub-Divisional Judicial Complex, costing over Rs 21 crore and spanning 1.79 acres, signifies a significant investment in the region’s legal infrastructure.
