Chief Minister Mohan Yadav emphasized the significance of serving the poor and preserving India’s spiritual heritage during the inauguration of the Khatu Shyam temple in Barwani district. The temple, located in Talun, is expected to reinforce Sanatan values and inspire future generations. Addressing the Pran Pratishtha ceremony virtually, Yadav highlighted the rich tradition of saints, culture, and folk heritage in the Nimar region, particularly in Barwani.
Yadav stressed the historical importance of Nimar, known for its cultural richness and the influence of saints. He underlined the role of saints in guiding society and emphasized the importance of serving the underprivileged. According to Yadav, the temple’s establishment aims to strengthen this cultural legacy and foster a deeper connection between youth and India’s spiritual roots.
The Chief Minister described the temple’s consecration as a symbol of faith and the resurgence of Sanatan culture. He praised Baba Khatu Shyam, revered as “Haare Ka Sahara” for providing hope and solace to devotees. Yadav highlighted the deity’s sacrifice as a testament to righteousness and public welfare, reflecting the values ingrained in Indian culture.
Yadav narrated the story of Baba Khatu Shyam, believed to be an incarnation of Barbarik who, as per the Mahabharata, sacrificed his head in support of Lord Krishna. The temple’s construction was initiated by Mahant Shashi Giri Ji Maharaj following the Narmada Parikrama, with the active participation of local devotees. The Chief Minister also underscored the state government’s commitment to preserving religious and cultural heritage, promoting religious tourism, and supporting the local economy.
During the ceremony, Yadav extended prayers for peace, prosperity, good health, and the holistic development of Madhya Pradesh and its residents.
