Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his leadership, attributing India’s progress in the past 12 years to his vision. Singh highlighted the positive impact of the Centre’s initiatives in infrastructure, education, healthcare, sports, connectivity, and social welfare on Manipur’s growth.
Singh, speaking at a press conference in Imphal, commended PM Modi for guiding India towards significant advancements since 2014. He emphasized how Manipur has particularly flourished under various government schemes, contributing to the state’s overall development during Modi’s tenure.
Acknowledging PM Modi as India’s longest-serving elected Prime Minister, Singh pointed out key achievements such as the establishment of the National Sports University in Manipur and the implementation of the Inner Line Permit system in the state.
The Chief Minister also highlighted milestones like the commissioning of INS Imphal, the establishment of a medical college in Churachandpur, and the ongoing Jiribam-Tupul-Imphal railway connectivity project, aimed at boosting Manipur’s economy and connecting it to the national railway network.
Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho mentioned India’s success in reducing emissions intensity ahead of schedule, while Home Minister Konthoujam Govindas Singh discussed border security measures along the Indo-Myanmar border. Tourism Minister Khuraijam Loken Singh noted the renaming of Mount Harriet to Mount Manipur in honor of Manipuri freedom fighters.
