Chief Minister Siddaramaiah led a meeting to discuss the progress of the Karnataka Public Schools (KPS) project, emphasizing the need for swift implementation across the state. The KPS initiative is set to kick off in Shivamogga on June 1, with each school accommodating 1,200 students from LKG to PU classes in both Kannada and English mediums on a single campus.
Siddaramaiah urged officials to ensure that all 800 proposed KPS schools are operational within the next two years. He also directed the initiation of the tender process for establishing these schools during the current academic year. Additionally, he tasked authorities with exploring the feasibility of providing school bus services for KPS students.
In a bid to enhance education quality, the Chief Minister called for the recruitment of 15,000 teachers and commended the notable academic progress seen in SSLC and PU examination results. The SSLC pass rate surged to 94.10%, a substantial increase from the previous year, while the II PUC pass rate reached 86.48%, marking a significant improvement.
