Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, during an orientation program for newly-elected legislators, promised a larger democratic platform for opposition members in West Bengal. He criticized past regimes for neglecting opposition MLAs, highlighting the lack of respect and exclusion they faced. Adhikari emphasized his efforts to change this by involving both ruling and opposition members in administrative meetings and the budget process.
In his new role as Chief Minister, Adhikari stated that he aims to develop the state collaboratively with all legislators. He expressed the importance of modernizing Assembly proceedings and communication methods, criticizing the outdated paper-based voting system.
