Chris Wood scored his 200th career goal, securing a 1-0 lead for Nottingham Forest in the UEFA Europa League semifinal second leg. Nottingham Forest gradually created better chances during the match, with notable attempts from players like Morgan Gibbs-White and Elliot Anderson. Villa responded with efforts from Morgan Rogers, but Forest’s defense, including goalkeeper Stefan Ortega, held strong.

In the closing stages of the game, Forest clinched the victory when Omari Hutchinson’s play led to a penalty after Lucas Digne handled the ball. Chris Wood confidently converted the penalty, giving his team a slight edge for the upcoming return leg at Villa Park. Nottingham Forest head coach Vitor Pereira praised his team’s performance, acknowledging the tough challenge ahead in the next leg at Birmingham.

The second leg match in Birmingham next Thursday will determine which team advances to the final in May.
