Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis informed the Legislative Assembly about strict actions being taken against police personnel involved in the Jalgaon Jamod missing woman case. The police mistakenly identified an unidentified body as the missing woman without proper verification, leading to the wrongful arrest of her parents. Following the woman’s reappearance, an independent investigation is now in progress to identify the discovered body.

The Chief Minister expressed strong disapproval of the police’s conduct in the case and suspended all officers involved, including Police Inspectors and Assistant Police Inspectors. Criminal charges are being pressed against them, with the possibility of permanent dismissal pending direct culpability confirmation. The state government is utilizing Artificial Intelligence technology to analyze missing person cases and has identified seven bodies successfully.

In a separate incident, Minister of State for Home Pankaj Bhoyar informed the Assembly about a controversial prayer meeting at a school in Malad West. The event, held on May 10, 2026, raised concerns as the organizer claimed to cure illnesses, leading to a case being registered under relevant laws against superstition and black magic practices. A detailed investigation is ongoing, with strict actions promised against any wrongdoing.
