Himachal Pradesh Police have filed a case against a college professor and three female students for allegedly causing the death of a 19-year-old female student at a local Government Degree College in Kangra district. The victim, Pallavi, was a second-year student at the college.

Pallavi’s father, Vikram Kumar, reported to the police that on September 18 last year, three students named Harshita, Aakriti, and Komolika from the college had harassed and attacked his daughter. He also accused Professor Ashok Kumar of engaging in inappropriate behavior with the victim.

The complaint was delayed as Pallavi was traumatized and needed hospitalization. Opposition leader Jairam Thakur has called for a thorough and unbiased investigation into the incident. Pallavi’s health deteriorated due to the alleged trauma, leading to her passing away on December 26 at Dayanand Medical College and Hospital in Ludhiana, Punjab.

The police have initiated an inquiry into the case and are gathering medical records to determine the cause of Pallavi’s death and its connection to the reported incidents. Superintendent of Police Ashok Rattan assured that a comprehensive investigation will be conducted to examine all aspects of the case fairly.
