Congress General Secretary K.C. Venugopal has written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the discrepancies arising from the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system introduced by CBSE for Class 10 and 12 exams. Venugopal criticized the government’s handling of the situation, citing errors in the digital scanning and evaluation process that have caused distress among students. He highlighted concerns over exorbitant re-evaluation fees charged by CBSE and urged for urgent attention to address the issues faced by lakhs of students.
Venugopal expressed alarm over the impact of the new digital evaluation system on students’ higher education prospects and mental well-being. He emphasized that students have been facing challenges due to glitches in the payment gateway and unreasonable charges for revaluation requests. While acknowledging the deployment of technical experts to address website functionality issues, Venugopal stressed that the fundamental flaws in the initial digital evaluation process must be rectified.
The deadline for applying for answer sheet copies has passed, and the revaluation application deadline is approaching. Venugopal urged PM Modi to intervene promptly and ensure a one-time redressal to prevent students from facing financial, academic, or mental repercussions due to the CBSE’s administrative failures.
