Congress leaders expressed admiration for D.K. Shivakumar before his upcoming inauguration as the new Chief Minister of Karnataka. Madhya Pradesh Congress President Jitu Patwari also praised Shivakumar’s contributions to governance and party organization, citing his significant role in Karnataka’s progress under Siddaramaiah’s leadership.
Senior Congress leader V. Hanumantha Rao described the leadership transition in Karnataka as a culmination of a prolonged political process within the party. He noted the decision to replace Siddaramaiah with D.K. Shivakumar as the next Chief Minister, emphasizing the continuity of welfare programs promised during the elections. Meanwhile, BJP Bihar State President Sanjay Saraogi acknowledged the internal nature of the Chief Minister selection within the Congress party, while suggesting a shifting political landscape in Karnataka favoring the Bharatiya Janata Party.
D.K. Shivakumar is set to be sworn in as the Chief Minister of Karnataka at 4.05 P.M. on Wednesday at the Glass House in Lok Bhavan, Bengaluru. Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot will administer the oath of office to Shivakumar and the new Cabinet members. The ceremony is anticipated to be attended by prominent Congress leaders, including AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, K.C. Venugopal, and Randeep Singh Surjewala, along with various Chief Ministers, Deputy Chief Ministers, and Pradesh Congress Committee presidents.
