Amidst the leadership dispute in the Karnataka Congress government, Ramanagara MLA Iqbal Hussain stated that Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar would assume the role of Chief Minister on either January 6 or January 9 next year. Hussain, a strong supporter of Shivakumar, emphasized that this prediction was based on insights from revered individuals known as ‘sharanaru.’
Iqbal Hussain clarified that his assertion was not personal but derived from sources with a reputation for accurate foresight. Expressing unwavering confidence, he reiterated that Shivakumar would ascend to the Chief Minister’s position in early 2026. Referring to Shivakumar as their leader, Hussain dismissed any doubts or hesitations, highlighting their commitment to this belief.
Furthermore, Urban Development Minister Byrathi Suresh, a close associate of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, praised Siddaramaiah’s integrity, labeling him as one of the most honest Chief Ministers in the country. Suresh acknowledged Siddaramaiah’s extensive political experience and urged for unity even in the face of envy, emphasizing forgiveness and coexistence as essential principles.
The statements made by Hussain and Suresh are anticipated to spark controversy within the state, particularly amidst factions supporting different leaders. The political landscape in Karnataka remains tense as various factions express their loyalties and expectations for the future leadership.
