Veteran Congress Lok Sabha member K. Sudhakaran criticized Kerala’s Health Minister Veena George, suggesting she excels as an actress rather than in her ministerial role. He dismissed claims by the CPI-M that she was attacked at Kannur railway station, labeling it a political stunt. Sudhakaran emphasized that visuals of the incident refute any assault allegations against the Minister.
Sudhakaran clarified that the KSU activists present at the scene protested peacefully without resorting to violence against the Minister. He highlighted the absence of evidence from various media outlets, including CPI-M-linked Kairali TV, supporting the attack narrative. Eyewitnesses reportedly confirm the peaceful nature of the protest.
The Congress MP accused the CPI-M of pursuing a politically motivated agenda devoid of factual basis. Meanwhile, the Health Minister remains in the ICU at Kannur district hospital, where Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and other leaders have visited her. The incident has sparked protests by CPI-M supporters, resulting in the destruction of KSU flags and opposition leader V.D. Satheesan’s posters in Pathanamthitta.
