A constable, Alamnath Bhuiyan from Gaya district, was discovered dead at the Amaur police station in Purnea district, Bihar. He had suffered a gunshot wound to his neck, with a carbine and spent cartridge found at the scene, triggering a thorough investigation. The incident, which took place around 10:00 AM, raised concerns and led to the sealing of the crime scene for detailed examination.
The constable’s body was found by a police canteen staff member who went to deliver breakfast and noticed him lying on the floor with blood around him. Upon the discovery, other police personnel were alerted, and senior officers, including the Amaur Station House Officer and Byasi DSP Jitendra Kumar Pandey, arrived at the scene. A Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team and a dog squad were summoned to conduct a comprehensive investigation.
Preliminary reports revealed that the constable had a normal conversation with his wife over the phone at 8:00 AM, just two hours before the incident. The authorities are yet to determine whether the constable took his own life or if foul play was involved. All possible scenarios are under scrutiny, and the constable’s family has been notified, with his relatives traveling from Gaya to Purnea for further proceedings. The police have sent the body for post-mortem examination, awaiting crucial reports for more insights.
