The controversy surrounding alleged irregularities in the Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC) is escalating as the BJP youth wing, Yuva Morcha, has announced a statewide agitation starting Tuesday. This move adds to the pressure already exerted by the Congress’s youth organizations, transforming the recruitment issue into a significant political conflict.
The Youth Congress has been protesting, demanding a judicial inquiry into the purported manipulation of PSC recruitments. Yuva Morcha State President V. Manu Prasad accused the previous Left government of orchestrating a systematic subversion of the PSC to favor ruling party members and their associates, allegedly at the expense of numerous job seekers who dedicate years to preparing for competitive exams.
Allegations include the manipulation of recruitment exams by setting more than 50 questions with Option B as the correct answer to benefit specific candidates. Moreover, in the Fisheries Department recruitment exam, it was claimed that over 30 out of 42 selected candidates were affiliated with the Students’ Federation of India (SFI) from a single college, suggesting an organized manipulation of the recruitment process.
