The Counter Intelligence Kashmir wing of the Jammu and Kashmir Police conducted raids at various locations across the Valley in connection with terror-related cases. These searches are part of an ongoing investigation into Pakistan-sponsored terrorist networks, sleeper cells, and activities related to recruitment, radicalization, and terrorism facilitation. The raids were initiated based on recent intelligence inputs, technical analysis, and sustained investigation, with eight search locations identified in six districts of the union territory.
The searches are linked to FIR No. 02/2015 registered at Police Station CIK Srinagar under specific acts such as the Foreigners Act, Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), and the Arms Act. Suspects are believed to have communicated with Pakistan-based terrorist handlers through encrypted platforms, engaging in extremist propaganda, radicalization, and aiding terror-related operations. The operations aim to recover incriminating evidence, establish terrorist connections, identify associates, facilitators, and overground workers (OGWs), and gather intelligence to strengthen the investigation.
All necessary legal procedures have been followed, including obtaining search warrants from the court, to ensure the searches are conducted lawfully. The Counter Intelligence Kashmir operates under the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and focuses on cases related to terrorism, sabotage, subversion, and terror networking in the region. The unit has its own police station where terror-related FIRs are registered and investigated.
