The court scheduled the next hearing for January 13. The accused, namely Mohammad Arib, Kaif, Kashif, Adnan, and Sameer, have sought bail from the court.
The court also directed the jail superintendent to provide medical records and CCTV footage of the accused before the upcoming hearing. Another individual was arrested by the Delhi Police in connection with the violence near the Faiz-e-Ilahi Mosque. The total number of arrests in the case has now reached 12. The newly arrested person, identified as Mohammad Imran or Raju, aged 36, has been taken into custody. The police had earlier identified around 30 individuals involved in the violence using various sources of footage.
Delhi Police are set to issue a summons to Samajwadi Party MP Mohibbullah Nadvi for his alleged presence at the site before the violence erupted. The police are also intensifying efforts to locate YouTuber Salman, who is accused of trying to disrupt public order through social media. The investigation has uncovered the use of WhatsApp groups by influential individuals to incite unrest during the demolition operation.
The FIR accessed by authorities details the events leading to the violence, starting with police barricading encroached government land. Around 30 to 35 people gathered, chanted slogans, and tried to obstruct the police’s efforts. The situation escalated as the group attempted to hinder the police’s blockade setup.
