Internal conflicts within the Trinamool Congress are escalating, prompting the CPI(M) to devise a strategic plan to reclaim the position of the primary opposition party in West Bengal. The CPI(M) aims to capitalize on the disarray within the Trinamool Congress factions and position itself as a credible opposition force against the current BJP-led government in the state.
Despite the Congress holding two MLAs in the West Bengal Assembly, the CPI(M) views the former as lacking the organizational capacity for widespread issue-based protests across the state. With a focus on organizing issue-based protests and collaborating with the All India Secular Front, the CPI(M) is gearing up to establish itself as the principal opposition force in West Bengal.
The CPI(M) is set to address key issues through state-wide protests, including the recent hawkers’ eviction drive, concerns of the minority community, and the alleged government decision to replace eggs with vegetarian items in school meals. By leveraging these issues, the CPI(M) aims to garner support and strengthen its position as a prominent opposition entity in the state.
