Cricket Nepal has unveiled a 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, with Rohit Paudel leading the team once again. Paudel, a 23-year-old all-rounder, has been pivotal in Nepal’s cricket progress, offering consistent batting support and calm leadership in pressure situations.
Assisting Paudel will be vice-captain Dipendra Singh Airee, whose all-round skills are crucial for Nepal’s T20 balance. The squad is strategically structured around spin, all-rounders, and batting resilience to enhance their performance after a disappointing 2024 T20 World Cup.
The spin department is spearheaded by Sandeep Lamichhane, known for his wicket-taking abilities in the middle overs, supported by left-arm spinner Lalit Rajbanshi, Dipendra Singh Airee, and Basir Ahamad. All-rounders like Dipendra, Gulshan Jha, Aarif Sheikh, and Sompal Kami play key roles in maintaining team equilibrium.
Kushal Bhurtel’s aggressive batting at the top, Aasif Sheikh’s wicketkeeping skills, and Lokesh Bam’s middle-order stability are vital for Nepal’s batting depth. The pace attack is led by Sompal Kami and Karan KC, offering experience with the new ball and control in the death overs.
