The second and final phase of the West Bengal Assembly elections is scheduled for April 29, covering districts like Nadia, East Burdwan, Howrah, Hooghly, North 24 Parganas, South 24 Parganas, and Kolkata. A total of 142 Assembly constituencies out of 294 will go to the polls, with results expected on May 4 after the completion of vote counting rounds. The deployment of central forces, including CAPF, IRB, and armed police units from various states, alongside West Bengal Police and Kolkata Police personnel, will ensure security during this phase.
With the highest concentration of central forces in North 24 Parganas district (507 companies) and South 24 Parganas (409 companies), extensive security measures are being implemented. Coastal patrolling in the Sundarbans region, spanning South 24 Parganas and North 24 Parganas districts, has been intensified due to the vast coastal border shared with Bangladesh. The upcoming phase of the elections will witness a comprehensive security setup to maintain peace and order during the polling process.
