A cultural program at the Delhi Secretariat marked Sikkim Day, with Chief Minister Rekha Gupta sending greetings to the state and the nation. The event featured mesmerizing Sikkimese folk dances like Singhi Chham, Khampa, Tamang Selo, and Mask Dance. These performances beautifully showcased reverence for nature and deities, with 10 artists delivering outstanding presentations.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta praised Sikkim for its natural beauty, environmental conservation efforts, and cultural diversity. Situated in the Himalayas, Sikkim earned recognition as India’s first fully organic state through its commitment to organic farming, setting a new standard for environmental preservation. Gupta highlighted Sikkim’s longstanding message of peace, development, and national unity.
The program at the Delhi Secretariat highlighted Sikkim’s folk culture, traditions, and developmental journey. Minister for Art, Culture, and Languages Kapil Mishra commended Chief Minister Gupta’s leadership and the Delhi government’s efforts to celebrate the foundation days and festivals of all states, aligning with PM Narendra Modi’s vision of ‘Ek Bharat–Shreshtha Bharat’. These initiatives aim to promote India’s diverse cultural heritage and raise awareness among the youth.
