Daughters of Lalu Prasad Yadav, Misa Bharti, and Hema Yadav, declared their innocence in the Railways land-for-jobs corruption case before the Special CBI Court. They expressed readiness to face trial. Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi, and Tejashwi Yadav appeared via video conferencing, seeking exemption from personal appearance due to various reasons.
The court granted their plea for exemption, considering factors like advancing age and medical grounds. However, the court instructed them to appear in person between February 1 and February 25, with prior notice. The trial for the land-for-job case is set to begin on March 9 at the Rouse Avenue Courts.
Earlier this month, Special Judge Vishal Gogne framed charges against Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family members, alleging corruption, cheating, and criminal conspiracy. The court observed that they were part of a criminal enterprise exploiting public employment in the Railways for personal gains.
