A shocking incident of daylight robbery occurred in the Siwan district of Bihar, where armed criminals looted valuables worth nearly Rs 20 lakh from Om Sai Jewellery Shop in Jamapur market. The criminals, arriving on two Apache motorcycles, held the shop owner and others at gunpoint before fleeing with gold, silver ornaments, and cash. Despite firing shots to create panic, local villagers managed to capture one of the robbers, identified as Golu Kumar Yadav, while the others escaped.
The robbers’ brazen act, which involved firing rounds in the air, caused chaos in the busy market as people sought safety. The incident highlighted concerns about law enforcement effectiveness, especially as a police camp was located just 500 meters away. Following the robbery, a large police force was deployed to the area, and raids are ongoing to apprehend the remaining criminals. The shop owner mentioned that the robbers seemed to have prior knowledge of the shop’s valuable stock, hinting at possible pre-planning.
Public outrage has grown over the incident, with questions raised about local policing responsiveness. An FIR has been filed against five individuals, and investigations are underway, with the recovery of ammunition from the crime scene. The community’s swift action in capturing one of the robbers showcases a mix of fear and courage in the face of criminal activities.
