Residents of Bhagirathpura slum in Indore are facing a severe outbreak of vomiting and diarrhoea believed to be caused by contaminated water. While unofficial reports suggest up to 13 deaths, official figures stand at four, causing distress among families and a lack of clarity on the actual toll.
The situation continues to worsen with over 50 individuals hospitalized and fresh cases reported. The discrepancy between on-ground reality and official statements has sparked outrage and highlighted the need for accurate reporting and swift action.
Political tensions have escalated, with the Madhya Pradesh Congress President criticizing the government’s response. Despite government relief efforts, including financial aid, affected families remain frustrated over the lack of accountability and ongoing water quality issues.
Local authorities have intervened, providing clean water and medical assistance to residents. An inquiry has been initiated by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav to investigate the outbreak and ensure necessary support for those affected.
