Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is set to inaugurate a North Tech Symposium in Prayagraj on Monday. The symposium, themed ‘Raksha Triveni Sangam – Where Technology, Industry & Soldiering Converge’, will span three days and involve discussions among military officials and technology companies to identify technologies suitable for field deployment. Organized jointly by the Northern Command, Central Command of the Indian Army, and the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM), the event aims to showcase indigenous technologies to address operational challenges.
The symposium will provide a platform for various participants, including MSMEs, private Defence Tech firms, start-ups, and innovators in uniform from across India. A total of 284 companies will exhibit their latest innovations and technologies at the event. The focus will be on selecting technologies for field deployment, improving maintenance processes, and enhancing procurement to bolster a sustainable and self-reliant defence ecosystem for the Indian Army.
Highlighting the importance of cutting-edge technologies, the Indian Army emphasizes the need for continuous innovation to tackle evolving security threats. The North Tech Symposium, scheduled to conclude on May 6, 2026, is expected to facilitate collaboration among defence forces, scientists, industry leaders, and the academic community to strengthen national security and technological excellence.
