The Defence Ministry’s Directorate General Resettlement (DGR) will conduct a large job fair for ex-servicemen at 12 Wing Air Force Station in Chandigarh on March 17. Ex-servicemen will have the opportunity to explore job openings in various sectors like logistics, manufacturing, security services, administration, hospitality, and technical domains. The job fair, scheduled at the Arjan Singh auditorium starting from 7 a.m., requires ex-servicemen to bring their I-Card and five copies of their biodata.
The DGR mentioned that the fair will provide benefits for industry employers, including free online registration, job postings, stall allotments, and access to resumes of ex-servicemen. In a previous event in January, the DGR organized a similar job fair at the Narangi Military Station in Guwahati. Over 50 corporate organizations participated, offering nearly 700 job vacancies across various sectors. More than 700 ex-servicemen from Assam and nearby regions attended, showcasing their skills and experiences to potential recruiters.
During the job fair, Corporate Guest of Honour Major (Retd) Rupam Talukadar and Military Guest of Honour Lieutenant General Mohit Wadhwa highlighted the valuable qualities ex-servicemen bring to the corporate world, such as integrity, adaptability, and leadership. Major General S.B.K. Singh and Brigadier (Retd) Polash Choudhury were also present, emphasizing the commitment to ensuring dignified resettlement and long-term livelihood security for ex-servicemen. Major General Singh noted that the job fair reflects DGR’s ongoing efforts to connect ex-servicemen’s talent with industry demands.
