Defending champions Abhay Singh and Velavan Senthilkumar started strong in the men’s doubles event at the 3rd National Doubles Squash Championships in Chennai. The top-seeded pair secured a spot in the semifinals with a dominant straight-games victory over Shubham and Vedant Patel. Their sharp play and aggressive shots ensured control throughout the match, showcasing their determination to retain the national title.

Abhay Singh also excelled in the mixed doubles category, teaming up with Rathika Seelan this year. The duo faced a tough challenge from Ravi Dixit and Janet Vidhi but managed to secure a semifinal spot with a hard-fought victory. Despite a slow start, Abhay and Rathika’s resilience in crucial moments helped them secure the win.

In other men’s doubles quarterfinal matches, Ravi Dixit and Vikas Mehra triumphed over Mathew Godwin and Navaneeth Prabhu in a closely contested battle. The Tamil Nadu pair of Guhan Senthilkumar and Sandhesh PR also continued their impressive run with a solid win over Harinder Sandhu and Om Semwal. Second seeds Rahul Baitha and Suraj Chand advanced comfortably with a victory in their match.

The women’s doubles event saw top-seeded duo Joshna Chinappa and Rathika Seelan dominate their opponents in Group A. Ananya Narayan and Anika Dubey also secured a convincing win in the same group. In the mixed doubles category, top seeds Velavan Senthilkumar and Joshna Chinappa started strong with a commanding victory, securing a spot in the semifinals.

Suraj Chand and Nirupama Dubey advanced in a tightly contested match, while Rahul Baitha and Anika Dubey staged a strong comeback to secure their place in the next round.
