Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta praised the current government for adopting the Public Accounts Committee’s reports after a 15-year hiatus. He highlighted the previous government’s failure to present CAG reports to the House, rendering the PAC inactive. Gupta emphasized the significance of the PAC in ensuring transparent and corruption-free governance.
The Speaker expressed satisfaction in reinstating the PAC, underscoring its crucial role in maintaining executive and financial accountability. He credited the Chief Minister’s government for the successful revival of the PAC, which has issued three reports based on CAG findings in the past year. Gupta commended the PAC members for their diligent work in making substantial recommendations for corrective actions.
Gupta urged departments to promptly submit their Action Taken Notes (ATNs) in response to the PAC’s recommendations. He directed all concerned departments to adhere to the specified timeframe for submitting their ATNs and instructed the Legislative Assembly Secretariat to forward the reports to the respective departments for necessary actions.
