Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta is set to speak at the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) India Region Zone-II North Zone Conference in Chandigarh on Monday. The conference, themed “Role of Aware Society and Legislators in Realising Future Challenges and the Goal of Viksit Bharat 2047,” will be held from June 8–9 at the Haryana Legislative Assembly. This two-day event aims to bring together Presiding Officers, Speakers, and legislators from northern India to discuss aligning legislative efforts with the national roadmap.
The regional conclave will serve as a platform for key decision-makers to brainstorm on strengthening parliamentary institutions, enhancing legislative practices, and fostering democratic cooperation in the region. It provides an opportunity for elected representatives to engage in dialogue with the public, analyze upcoming socio-economic challenges, and develop governance frameworks to address the nation’s evolving needs.
Representing the Delhi Legislative Assembly, Vijender Gupta will actively participate in the conference sessions to share insights on citizen empowerment and public involvement in the legislative process. The event will facilitate the exchange of best parliamentary practices among dignitaries, aiming to establish an effective roadmap for lawmakers to address regional issues and work towards a transformed India by 2047.
Gupta, who recently joined Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla in launching the ‘Vidhan-Chetna’ journal of the Delhi Legislative Assembly, emphasized the importance of preserving India’s parliamentary legacy while promoting modern democratic discourse.
