Ahead of the Delhi Assembly’s Budget Session starting on March 23, Speaker Vijender Gupta and Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, along with her Cabinet colleagues, met to plan and organize the legislative proceedings. The Budget for 2026–27 will be presented on March 24, marking the second consecutive Budget presentation by CM Gupta, who also oversees the Finance portfolio.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta emphasized the government’s commitment to crafting a Budget that promotes Delhi’s advancement and meets the public’s expectations. The Assembly office confirmed the Budget presentation date in a social media post, highlighting the visit of CM Gupta to Speaker Vijender Gupta before the commencement of the Budget Session on March 23.
During the meeting, Cabinet Minister Sahib Singh, Assembly Deputy Speaker Mohan Singh Bisht, and Chief Whip Abhay Verma were also in attendance, as stated by the Assembly Secretariat. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta shared insights from her discussion with Speaker Vijender Gupta, emphasizing the importance of preparing for the upcoming Budget session and legislative matters crucial to Delhi’s progress.
The Delhi Assembly’s Budget session is scheduled from March 23 to 25, with the Economic Survey report set to be presented on March 23, as per the Cabinet’s decision. Speaker Gupta introduced an AI-enabled chatbot called ‘Vidhan Sathi’ for Members, making the Delhi legislature the pioneer in offering such a technology-driven service. ‘Vidhan Sathi’ aims to provide legislators with comprehensive research and assistance, ensuring well-informed and purposeful discussions during the legislative sessions.
