Kolkata Knight Riders’ chase started well with skipper Ajinkya Rahane scoring 63 off 39 balls, including four fours and as many sixes. However, Kuldeep Yadav’s quick strikes, dismissing Rahane and Rinku Singh, triggered Kolkata’s downfall. Despite a missed hat-trick opportunity, Kolkata lost seven wickets for just 35 runs, ending their season on a disappointing note.
Ajinkya Rahane and Finn Allen provided a solid start for Kolkata Knight Riders with a 43-run opening partnership. Lungi Ngidi’s crucial wickets, including that of Rahane and Manish Pandey, shifted the momentum in Delhi Capitals’ favor. Kuldeep Yadav’s double strike further dented Kolkata’s chances, leading to their eventual defeat.
Delhi Capitals posted 203/5 in 20 overs, with KL Rahul top-scoring with 60 runs, while Axar Patel contributed 39 runs. In response, Kolkata Knight Riders were bowled out for 163 in 18.4 overs, with Lungi Ngidi and Kuldeep Yadav taking three wickets each.
