Delhi Capitals skipper Axar Patel acknowledged that their batting collapse led to a loss of momentum in the IPL 2026 game against Kolkata Knight Riders. The team, after a strong start, faltered against KKR’s spin attack on a challenging pitch, eventually posting a below-par total of 142/8. Kolkata Knight Riders comfortably chased down the target with Finn Allen’s impressive century.
“I think the runs were definitely below par, and at the same time, the spinners made quite a few mistakes. Looking at the way the pitch behaved, I feel the spinners did make errors,” Axar Patel commented post-match. He highlighted the importance of addressing the issue of losing quick wickets, emphasizing the need for a resilient mindset during tough phases in a game.
With Delhi Capitals facing a precarious position in the playoffs race, Axar emphasized the significance of maintaining composure and spending valuable time at the crease, even in the face of wicket losses. Reflecting on the team’s recent performances and their current standing in the points table, he stressed the need to analyze mistakes and plan for the future matches and upcoming seasons.
