Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta praised the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) for its courage and dedication on its Raising Day. She expressed heartfelt greetings to the brave soldiers and their families, acknowledging the NDRF’s vital role in serving the nation during crises. Chief Minister Gupta highlighted the NDRF’s unwavering commitment in facing disasters and moments of crisis, emphasizing their role as a pillar of the nation’s trust.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and other leaders commended the NDRF for its discipline, bravery, and dedication to public service. The NDRF, established under the Disaster Management Act, 2005, is a specialized unit for handling natural and man-made disasters. It has gained national and international recognition for its efficiency and humane approach, becoming India’s leading disaster response agency.

Equipped with highly trained personnel mainly from the Central Armed Police Forces, the NDRF excels in managing various emergencies such as floods, cyclones, earthquakes, and industrial accidents. The force has actively participated in significant rescue and relief operations across India, demonstrating resilience in challenging conditions. Besides disaster response, the NDRF focuses on capacity building, community awareness, and disaster preparedness through mock drills and training programs.
