Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta recently launched the ‘Morning Nutrition Programme’ in partnership with the Akshaya Patra Foundation and 200 Delhi government schools. This initiative aims to provide meals to almost 90,000 children, emphasizing the importance of nutrition in shaping a brighter future for the youth.
Gupta highlighted that beyond just food, nutrition plays a crucial role in the overall development of children, as evidenced by the joy on the faces of schoolchildren benefiting from the program. She praised the organization’s efforts, linking the act of donating food to a noble virtue deeply rooted in Indian cultural traditions.
The Chief Minister expressed her full support for the initiative, viewing it as a cornerstone for the well-being and growth of children. She acknowledged the impact of schemes like the Mid-Day Meal Scheme in enhancing children’s physical and mental well-being, underscoring the significance of the ‘Morning Nutrition Programme’ in providing essential nourishment to kickstart the day.
Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gupta noted the transformative impact of national nutrition initiatives like PM Poshan and the National Food Security Act, emphasizing the collective effort required to address nutritional challenges in the country. She stressed the pivotal role of well-nourished children in shaping a prosperous India, aligning with the vision of a healthier nation through various health and nutrition programs.
