A day after the Delhi Assembly approved the Budget 2026-27, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta met with Lieutenant Governor T.S. Sandhu to talk about development and infrastructure matters. Gupta shared on social media that the meeting involved discussions on Delhi’s progress, public welfare, and future plans. Emphasizing the importance of the Green Budget for infrastructure growth and environmental concerns, she expressed a commitment to enhancing the lives of citizens.

The interaction between the Delhi L-G and the Chief Minister followed T.S. Sandhu’s meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah. During the Budget discussion conclusion, Chief Minister Gupta highlighted Delhi’s shift towards a governance-focused approach for progress. She stressed a transformation-oriented agenda over political conflicts, underlining the government’s dedication to performance and development.

Addressing the resolve of the Bharatiya Janata Party-led state government, Chief Minister Gupta noted the government’s efforts to settle long-pending dues, including payments related to various welfare schemes and educational support. She raised concerns about irregularities in public works projects under the previous administration, citing instances of payments made without completed work. Criticizing the financial legacy left by the previous government, Gupta pledged transparency and accountability in managing the substantial debt burden inherited by the current administration.
