On the eve of Union Budget 2026-27, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta expressed confidence in Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman’s proposals. She believes these measures will further strengthen the vision of Viksit Bharat. The Chief Minister emphasized that the upcoming budget, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, will play a significant role in India’s journey towards self-reliance and global leadership by 2047.
The Chief Minister highlighted that the budget is a crucial step towards the economic and social empowerment of the nation. She anticipates that the provisions outlined in the budget will positively influence the development plans for the national capital. PM Modi’s focus on enhancing India’s global economic standing through infrastructure development and technological progress was also commended.
Rekha Gupta expressed her optimism that the Union Budget will align with the objective of transforming Delhi into a developed city. She noted the Central Government’s active involvement in key projects, including support for initiatives such as the cleaning of the Yamuna River and the expansion of the Delhi Metro. Additionally, she acknowledged the successful implementation of schemes promoting solar energy in Delhi.
The Chief Minister emphasized the collaborative efforts between the Central Government and the Delhi Government in advancing the Delhi Metro projects. She highlighted the significant contributions made by the Central Government towards Delhi’s progress. With expectations of the forthcoming Union Budget providing fresh impetus to Delhi’s overall development, the vision of Viksit Delhi alongside Viksit Bharat is set to be further reinforced.
