Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta honored the Indian Blind Women’s T20 World Cup-winning team, coaches, and Blind Association representatives at Mukhyamantri Janseva Sadan. The team, led by Deepika T. C. from Karnataka and vice-captained by Ganga S. Kadam from Maharashtra, clinched the title by defeating Nepal in the final in Colombo on November 23, 2025. India’s flawless performance secured a seven-wicket victory, with the batters successfully chasing down Nepal’s 114/5 in just 12.1 overs.
In a video shared on social media, Delhi CM praised the team, calling them strong and expressing pride in their achievements. She hailed the players as inspirational figures, highlighting their courage, self-confidence, and determination. The Indian Blind Women’s Cricket Team was commended not only for their sporting success but also for their resilience and spirit, serving as role models for all.
The team’s triumph also caught the attention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who hosted the champions after their World Cup win. During the meeting, PM Modi lauded the team’s inspiring experiences and expressed delight in their accomplishments. The players, recognized for their victory in the Blind Women’s T20 World Cup, shared insights from their successful campaign.
