The Delhi government has released guidelines ahead of the Bakrid festival, cautioning against sacrificing prohibited animals and breaching public hygiene regulations. Minister Kapil Mishra emphasized that the festival must be observed in compliance with the law and civic norms. Mishra highlighted that the sacrifice of bovine species and other banned animals is illegal in the capital, with severe legal consequences for offenders.
Authorities have prohibited animal sacrifices in public areas like roads and lanes, with only authorized locations allowed for such rituals during Bakrid. The government stressed the proper disposal of waste from sacrifices to prevent environmental and sanitation issues. Mishra urged residents to report any violations of the guidelines to the police or the Development Department.
Preparations are underway to ensure law and order, sanitation, and public health measures are maintained during the Bakrid celebrations in the city.
