Delhi Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena recently launched the fifth Aarambh library in Vikaspuri and introduced column fountains at key road intersections in Dwarka Sub-City. The Aarambh initiative’s Vikaspuri facility, developed by the Delhi Development Authority, serves as a 24×7 library accommodating up to 180 students daily in three shifts. This initiative aims to offer students in West Delhi a conducive and affordable environment for learning with modern amenities like Wi-Fi, study tables, lockers, surveillance, and a cafeteria.
Delhi, known as an educational hub attracting students nationwide, is the focus of the Aarambh initiative to provide top-notch infrastructure at reasonable rates. The Lieutenant Governor commended the DDA for its service to students with limited resources, emphasizing the importance of youth development for the nation’s future. Additionally, at the inauguration of column fountains in Dwarka, the L-G highlighted the commitment to holistic development in Delhi to meet the city’s urban needs and align planning with residents’ requirements.
The newly unveiled column fountains in Dwarka blend modern design with environmental consciousness, standing 2.8 meters tall in sandstone tubs made from Teak and Rainbow sandstone. These fountains, featuring sleek column structures, serve as prominent visual landmarks during the day and transform into vibrant focal points at night with LED lighting. Enhanced by floral landscaping, the water features not only enhance the aesthetic appeal but also contribute to the overall streetscape.
