Delhi Minister for Social Welfare and SC/ST/OBC Welfare, Ravinder Indraj Singh, has unveiled a series of programs scheduled from Friday to April 14 to commemorate the 136th birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. The Minister has extended an invitation to all citizens to join in the celebrations, emphasizing that this year’s observance of Baba Saheb’s birth anniversary in Delhi will be marked with grandeur and enthusiasm.

A key feature of the upcoming celebrations is the “Bhim Jyoti Utsav” set to take place near India Gate on Kasturba Gandhi Marg. This event will showcase a rich collection of literature on Baba Saheb and highlight significant aspects of his life through a special gallery. Visitors will have the opportunity to delve into various facets of Baba Saheb’s life, thoughts, and struggles.

Furthermore, the festivities will include a variety of folk-cultural programs, performances, and diverse activities aimed at disseminating his ideas to the wider populace. The platform is envisioned to embody the essence of national harmony, with the participation of saints, social workers, intellectuals, and individuals dedicated to promoting unity and social cohesion from all corners of the country.

Ravinder Indraj Singh stressed Baba Saheb’s fundamental message of “Nation First” and his unwavering commitment to national interests. The Minister highlighted that the upcoming mega festival, scheduled from April 10 to April 14, will stand as a genuine homage to Baba Saheb. He urged the public to actively engage in this historic celebration and be a part of the event in large numbers.

The Minister emphasized that despite differing viewpoints on various matters, the nation stands united in its reverence for Baba Saheb and his principles. This event is poised to symbolize unity and harmony, reflecting the core values advocated by Baba Saheb. The “Bhim Jyoti Utsav – 2026” will feature extensive programs across different locations in the capital, ensuring inclusive participation from all segments of society.

This commemorative event goes beyond mere festivity; it serves as a robust campaign to propagate Baba Saheb’s ideologies, the foundational principles of the Constitution, and the message of social concord. The program series encompasses a range of activities such as floral tributes, public engagement initiatives, the “Constitution Fest,” exhibitions, awareness drives, cultural performances, walkathons, interactive sessions, workshops, quiz competitions, and art displays. These endeavors aim to enlighten the youth and students about the Constitution, their rights, and responsibilities.
