In a significant development against crimes like vehicle theft and burglaries, the Delhi Police captured two brothers suspected of auto theft and multiple burglary incidents. The apprehension took place near Alaknanda Market in South Delhi by the vigilant picket staff of Police Station C.R. Park. The accused attempted to escape on a motorcycle upon noticing the police team but were chased down and caught after a short pursuit.

The stolen motorcycle, recovered during the arrest, was traced back to a theft case under E-FIR No. 017344/26 in the jurisdiction of PS Vasant Kunj North. The arrested individuals, identified as Deepak alias Sethi, 31, and Tinku alias Bhola, 29, residents of Phase-06, Bandh Road, Aya Nagar, South Delhi, had no prior criminal records on file.

During interrogation, one of the accused, Tinku, revealed that both brothers turned to theft and burglaries to support their drug addiction influenced by bad company. They confessed to targeting isolated and unattended houses in Aya Nagar and nearby areas, stealing items like cash, jewelry, mobile phones, and other valuables. The modus operandi involved using a motorcycle for reconnaissance and accessing houses through terraces or balconies during late-night hours to avoid detection.

The police operation led to the recovery of various stolen items, including mobile phones, wristwatches, gold and silver jewelry, cash, and a stolen motorcycle. The arrests also helped solve multiple burglary cases and an auto theft case registered at different police stations. Deputy Commissioner of Police (South District) Anant Mittal commended the efforts of the PS C.R. Park staff for their proactive policing in combating street crimes and property offenses, emphasizing the district police’s commitment to ensuring public safety.
