The Delhi Police Crime Branch apprehended two robbers linked to a daylight robbery and shooting in Sunlight Colony, Delhi. The arrested individuals, Bijender Yadav and Pawan Giri, hail from Uttar Pradesh. The incident, which occurred on April 25, involved the robbers opening fire during the crime, causing severe injuries to the victim.
The robbery case, registered on April 26 at Sunlight Colony Police Station, gained attention due to its audacity. The victims, Shakir Ali and Jeeshan, were attacked while traveling on a motorcycle with a significant amount of cash. The assailants, armed with weapons, intercepted the victims, leading to a violent confrontation.
Following the complaint, the Anti-Extortion and Kidnapping Cell of the Crime Branch took up the case. With a dedicated team in place, the police successfully arrested the suspects near I.P. Park. During the arrest, one of the accused attempted to wield a pistol but was subdued by the police.
The arrested individuals confessed to their involvement in the robbery and disclosed details about their accomplice, who is currently evading capture. The police recovered a substantial amount of the stolen cash, along with weapons used in the crime. Investigations also revealed that the motorcycle used in the robbery was stolen in 2024 from Uttar Pradesh.
