In a significant breakthrough against organized crime, the Anti-Auto Theft Squad (AATS) of Delhi Police’s Dwarka District captured four wanted members of the Ashok Pradhan gang, including Mohit Bhardwaj alias Monu, after an 800-km chase across Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttar Pradesh. The operation averted a potential gang clash between two factions of the Ashok Pradhan gang and led to the recovery of a car linked to an abduction case and the resolution of three criminal cases in the Najafgarh area. The accused were sought in various cases stemming from violent confrontations between the gang’s factions, involving knife attacks, abductions, and severe assaults, posing a significant threat to law and order in Najafgarh.
Acting on directives from DCP Dwarka Kushal Pal Singh and Additional DCP-I Vikas Meena, the AATS conducted an intelligence-driven operation to apprehend the accused. After monitoring their movements in multiple states, the police located them in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. The operation, led by Inspector Manish Yadav and supervised by ACP (Operations) Subhash Malik, involved a team of officers including SI Pawan, ASI Dev, and others. The accused, involved in three separate FIRs for offenses like hurt, abduction, and attempted murder, had fled Delhi to evade arrest but were eventually traced to Agra.
The police arrested Mohit Bhardwaj alias Monu, a history-sheeter and active gang member with a criminal record, along with three juvenile associates during a well-planned raid in Agra. Bhardwaj, 29, hailing from Najafgarh, has been involved in serious criminal activities such as offenses under the Arms Act, armed robbery, and murder. The other apprehended individuals are juveniles aged 17 years.
