In a significant development under the Zero Tolerance Policy on narcotics, Delhi Police dismantled an interstate drug trafficking ring involved in supplying high-quality Malana Charas from Himachal Pradesh to Delhi-NCR. Five individuals, including the main supplier from Malana village in Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu district, have either been arrested or identified in connection with the case. The operation, conducted by the Special Staff of East District, Delhi Police, resulted in the seizure of 480.4 grams of premium Malana Charas and seven mobile phones used in the trafficking activities.
The investigation exposed a well-organized interstate narcotics syndicate operating in Himachal Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, and neighboring NCR regions. The syndicate sourced top-grade Charas directly from Malana village, transported it to Delhi through trusted couriers, and then distributed it to local suppliers and consumers. A dedicated team led by Inspector Jitendra Malik, In-Charge of Special Staff, East District, carried out the operation with the close supervision of ACP Operations Pawan Kumar.
During a patrol near Sharmanath Band in Village Ghadoli, Ghazipur, Delhi, the police apprehended two individuals behaving suspiciously and attempting to evade checking. Subsequent lawful searches led to the recovery of 115 grams of Charas from their possession. The accused, identified as Shubham Jain and Rahul Kumar from Uttar Pradesh, were arrested, leading to a broader investigation into the narcotics supply chain network.
Further interrogation and technical analysis of the accused revealed crucial information about the interstate syndicate. This led to the arrest of Vishal Bhardwaj, who was found with 101.4 grams of premium Malana Charas, sourced directly from Urmesh in Malana village. The police team also apprehended Urmesh, the primary source supplier, in Himachal Pradesh. The investigation uncovered the involvement of another accused, Hardeep, who allegedly transported Charas from Malana to Delhi.
The accused used mobile phones and personal contacts to coordinate the procurement, transportation, and delivery of narcotics, maintaining secrecy to evade law enforcement. Each member of the syndicate had specific roles in sourcing, transportation, distribution, and local supply, facilitating the network’s smooth operation across state borders for financial gain. The police identified the roles of Shubham Jain, Rahul Kumar, Vishal Bhardwaj, Urmesh, and Hardeep in the syndicate.
